What is Planning Poker?
Planning Poker is a collaborative estimation technique for agile teams. Each estimator chooses a card independently, the team reveals the cards together, and people discuss differences before agreeing on an estimate. Teams often use story points to compare effort, complexity and uncertainty.
Is this online Planning Poker tool free?
You can create a Free Room without signing up. Each Free Room lasts 28 days from creation and supports up to 5 Work Items and 10 Estimation Rounds in total. Those limits are shared by the whole Room; creating an account does not reset them.
How does a remote team join a Room?
Create a Room, choose your estimation deck and share the Room link with your teammates. Participants join in their browser and choose a display name. No app installation or registered account is required to get started.
Are votes hidden until the cards are revealed?
Yes. Each estimator can see their own selection while other participants see a hidden card. A Game Manager reveals the cards for discussion, or you can enable automatic reveal in Game Settings.
Can we use our own cards and estimate before a meeting?
Yes. Choose a preset estimation deck or create a named custom deck with up to 20 unique cards. Add Work Items to the Room backlog so estimators can submit private asynchronous votes before a live Estimation Round.
Are Rooms public or listed in search results?
Rooms are not listed in a public directory and their pages request exclusion from search indexing. Anyone with a Room link can explicitly join until the Room ends or expires, so share it only with intended participants. The link is an invitation, not a password.
